Independence Day Celebration

St. John’s School, Abu Road celebrated 73rd Independence day with great splendor, joy and respect for Mother India. The day began with the lighting of lamp by the Director Mr. K. A. Shyam Kumar and the Principal Mrs. Uma Shyam accompanied by the teachers. The Director hoisted the ‘Tiranga’ and all the students and teachers saluted the flag and sang National Anthem. The school band played a note and the synchronized movements of the students in parade intensified the grandeur of the occasion. The spirit of freedom and nationalism was well exhibited by the students by the spectrum of patriotic songs, speeches and dances. A special program was organized to educate the students about the significance of Raksha Bandhan. It symbolized the sisters love and prayers for the brothers well being and his long vow to protect her. Gaiety and Patriotic fervor found its vent in gracious dance performance staged by the dance group under the guidance of the dance teacher Ms. Madhumita Choudhary. The celebrations concluded with an inspiring speech of Principal about the ‘Makers of Modern India’ and she encouraged the SJS community to identify the Personalities. The students dispersed after snacks with the image of fluttering ‘Tiranga’ in their Minds. .
