Independence Day Celebration

Independence Day was celebrated in our school to mark the 70 years of freedom. On this patriotic occasion St. John's School showcased a colourful spectacle of India’s vision through their performance.

To commemorate the sovereignty of our nation, the chief guest Shri K. A. Shyam Kumar, Director St. John's School, Abu Road along with the Principal of the school Mrs. Uma Shyam, unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem. The school Band displayed a spectacular percormance. The students of SJS choir sang the patriotic song that awakened everyone’s feelings towards our mother land. Dharohar – The Inter Class Lok Geet competition was held for the Classes VI to VIII. Students sang folk songs from different regions of our country displaying unity in diversity.

The entire atmosphere was filled with songs full of nationalism, skits highlighting India’s flight to progress, energetic dance performance which left the audience spell bound.

The celebration concluded with the words of the Principal Mrs. Uma Shaym. She addressed the students as the Bright Beams of Indian Dreams and emphasized on unleashing the superpowers hidden with in the students.

Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and make it a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
