Pride of the Nation – Hindi

The students and staff of St. John’s School, Abu Road celebrated Hindi Diwas in the school to mark the importance of the country’s National Language – Hindi. A special assembly marked the occasion with a play reflecting the importance of Hindi language, poems in Hindi were recited and a student spoke on the importance of the language in the contemporary society. On this occasions many competition were organized for Classes I to XII. The students from Class I to V displayed their talent on the stage through the mythological Dance Drama competition. They showcased immense confidence and grace and faced the audience without any inhibitions. Class I to II put forth the Dance Drama Bansuri – The saga of Lord Krishna, the birth of Lord Krishna, Natkhat Kanha stealing makhan and Raslila were some of the highlights of the show. Classes III to V enacted Mahisaur Mardini Stotram, Bal Krishna Leela, Kaliya Nag, showcasing the ecstatic dance performance of Krishna on the heads of Kaliya Nag. Mahishasur Vadh by Maa Durga a portrayed how goddess Durga slew the buffalo demon Mahisasura. Maa Ganga Avataran Katha and Krishna Sudama friendship. The students in bright colourful costumes danced gracefully. The young ones stole everyone’s heart and left the audience mesmerized. The students from Classes VI to VIII were asked to express their ideas through paintings and sketches on social causes. The students showed immense enthusiasm and drafted informative posters. Classes IX to XII debated on the topics “Is part time jobs beneficial for the students and’ Is English a hinderance in the progress of Hindi”. The competitions proved to be great learning experience for the students.
