Maths Week

Celebration of Maths Week Maths Week was celebrated in St. John’s School, Abu Road from 11th December to 22nd December 2017 on the birth anniversary of Srinivas Ramanujan under the guidance of the Mathematics department. The students learnt the application of Maths in their day to day life. During the entire week students understood the basics of Mathematics by play way method. They utilized the elementary knowledge of geometry and arithmetics to understand the following concepts: • Date Calendar – Geometrical patterns to find relationship between the dates of any month. • Number Tables – Unique no. pattern to get a table. • Geometry City – Using 2D and 3D geometrical shapes. • Type of angles – Using colour tapes. • Different Play Ground Shapes – Paper cutting method. • Number Formation – By cyclic relationship. The students of the classes prepared innovative 3D geometrical models. At the end of the session, a phobia about maths changed into pleasing and peaceful thoughts.
