Krishna Janmashtami Celebration

Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with grandeur and religious fervor in St. John’s School, Abu Road. On this special occasion the KG Classrooms were decorated. The fragrance of flowers and soothing aroma of lit incense filled the air. The tiny tots of the kindergarten came in the attire of Lord Krishna and Radha. They looked adorable in their traditional costumes and won the soul of the spectators. Students participated enthusiastically in the competitions organized by them by their teachers. Cute Radha and beautiful Krishna competition, stick bindi on the forehead of Radha and Matki race were organized for angles of KG Classes. Arti and bhajans were also recited by the students and teachers. The involvement of the children in the festival was worth applauding. The students from primary, secondary and senior secondary classes also participated in Shri Krishna Janmashtami. They prepared Jhanki of Lord Krishna. The entire area was transformed into a land of joy, celebration and happiness. The highlight of the event was ‘Dance Drama’ showcasing the life of Shri Krishna right from birth to the pranks played by him, natkhat Krishna with his mother Yashoda, devotion of Gopies and victory of good over evil. Students won the hearts of all by enacting various roles of Krishna. Spell bound dances presented by the students touched the hearts of the audience. The naughty little Krishna swayed and danced with the Gopies and Radha. The school choir sang devotional bhajans. Modern Krishna along with his friends cut the cake on his birthday. The programme concluded with golden words from the Principal Mrs. Uma Shyam. She reminded us to keep our rivers clean as Shri Krishna did by over powering Kaliya Nag and making Yamuna poison free. The programme that gave the true picture of Brij and Vrindavan was presented by Muskan Upadhyay of Class XII Science and Niyati Agarwal of Class XII Com.
