World Environment Day Celebration

To raise awareness and generate positive momentum around growing concerns such as global warming, desertification, depletion of the ozone layer etc. the World Environment Day was celebrated in St. John's School, Abu Road. Many programmes were organized to inculcate the habit to preserve the environment. Class one students spent time in nature and appreciated the beauty and magnificence of the natural world. They went for a nature walk and discussed about protecting the environment. Grade two students collected leaves of different shape and appreciated the diversity of the nature. Understanding the fact that trees are great for the environment class IV students planted saplings in the school campus. Students drafted posters and wrote slogans on the ways to make our world cleaner, greener and better place to live in. To raise further awareness for efforts to preserve the environment a rally was taken out by seventh grade students. Aiming to protect the unique and life nurturing nature a panel discussion followed by a slide show was organized by IX grade students, all agreed to the point that its high time that we start doing rather than talking or reading. Activities like essay writing, environment quiz and word scramble were also organized. These activities challenged the students to find fun and exciting ways to experience and cherish this vital relationship with the only world we have.
