St. John’s School, Abu Road aims to educate students for life and develop in them a strong sense of responsibility and commitment towards the community. Under the guidance and support of the school Principal Mrs. Uma Shyam the students of the school took keen interest in community service programme.
On 13th February 2019, class 10th students distributed sports items in Govt. Senior Secondary School, Kiwarli. Teachers Mr. George William and Mrs. Mini William took initiative in arranging and co-ordinating the activity. The same day another group of class 4th students under the leadership of Mrs. Kumud Singh and Mrs. Annapurna Sharma visited the Govt. Secondary School, Manpur and donated a water tank, accessories and sweets. However, the students learnt how satisfying it can be to help out and lend a hand to needy.
On 15th February class 8th students visited the Upper Primary School, Kyara. They distributed 16 mats / carpets and sweets among the students. Mrs. Sunita Sharma and Mr. Sreedhar Kumar took active part to arrange it.
The students of class 6th pooled up a good amount and purchased 100 steel plates, spoons and chocolates. With the assistance of Mrs. Annapurna Sharma and Mr. Diptish Chakrabarti these items were distributed in Govt. School, Chandrawati on 22nd February 2019.
These all activities helped the students to give a spark of hope and joy to those in need. The school Director Mr. K. A Shyam appreciated the participants and explained that such projects are fruitful way to bring about positive change in the society.
