International Day Against Drug Abuse

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking at The abuse of alcohol and illicit and prescription drugs continues to be a major health problem internationally. It has been found that many problem drug users start abusing drugs at an early age –As early as teen age. To create awareness about Substance abuse and Illicit trafficking, a day’s workshop was organized on 26 June, 2018. The students visited the gallery and saw the displayed charts that highly spoke about the harmful effects of consuming alcohol, tobacco and drugs. A short play was staged by the students highlighting the ill effects of consuming tobacco. An interactive session was organized by Mrs. Madhuri Tiwari for the students where they spoke their mind and shared their views on why students fall into the trap of substance abuse and ways to get rid of it. The program was designed to provide educational awareness regarding substance abuse in an interesting way where many short films where shown that imparted information to students about negative consequences of its use. The Principal of the school Mrs. Uma Shyam spoke about the severe, often irreversible, health effects of drug use and asked the students to pledge not to use alcohol, tobacco or drugs. She urged the students to develop a positive and productive society.
