Navratri Celebration

To inculcate the sense of Indian Culture and unity, Navratri was celebrated at St. John’s School, Abu Road on 13th October, 2018 with vigour and enthusiasm. The venue was colourfully decorated. The music created the spirit of festival. The celebration started with traditional ‘aarti’ followed by worshiping different forms of Shakti Devi during the nine days of Navratri. Siya Sharma of class VII B chanted mantras of the nine forms of Devis in her melodious voice. Joshita Bhardwaj of class VII A described about the different forms of Shakti devis who are worshipped during the nine days of Navratri. The significance and the sequential events on all nine different days were beautifully demonstrated by the students through a Dance Drama. The students also showed how Navratri is being celebrated in different ways in different parts of India. The students looked elegant in traditional attire which was a spectacular visual treat for everyone. The live orchestra combined with the positivity and energy exuberating out of the colourful costumes and enthusiasm of the students made the atmosphere extremely joyous and enjoyable. The students danced on the Garba Beats. The most colourful, dynamic and awaited and event of the year concluded with the winners being awarded in different categories for best dressed dancer and energetic dancers.
